Seje is a new indie folk rock group based out of Eau Claire WI. Members include Sarah Elstran (The Nunnery), Shane Leonard and John Roemhild. For over a decade Sarah has been performing under her solo looping project "The Nunnery" which her etherial live loops feel like a gate into a soundscape to transport the listener. This new project is a completely different genre and songwriting approach that feels raw and relatable to human connection while also making the listener want to dance or start their own band.
On stage, St. Anthony Mann takes the shape of a huddled four-piece. Seated in three chairs and a drum throne, the musicians attend to the strings in their hands and pedals at their feet. As a group, their sound is expansive—the effort to keep the musical expanse midair looks more meditative than theatrical. Adam is ballcapped and seen singing in profile. The rhythm section sets the table, friendly and relaxed, while the guitarists loop, condense, expand, and contort their down-tuned, bell-clear guitar tones. The songs often end with a hazy distortion followed by a modest “thanks” directed toward the crowd. Seen from a corner seat, late at night, you know, at a grimy pub, Mann appears like a mirage cousin to a terrific midwestern bar band.

Join us on the new Icehouse patio to kick off the season with the Summer Breeze Music Festival. With a mix of folk music, original folk-pop songwriting, live cover music of great songs from the 80s, and hip-hop infused DJ sets, this multiple band and artist program is just what we need to set the summer vibe.
Ryan Cihlar Folk Duo - Ryan takes his audiences all over the world; a quiet cafe in Paris, a lively wurst hall in Germany, a breezy Italian beach. Playing everything from classic European music to Midwestern folk; and singing everything from Dean Martin to Tears For Fears, Ryan will transport you to a different country- or decade- as he breathes new life into beloved classics on his 1950’s Excelsior accordion.
Matt Caflisch Band - An original singer-songwriter sensation from Eau Claire, Matt's sincere, affable folk-pop original songs is enlivened by is vivid words. In the words of Kevin Avery "Caflisch is a word guy in the best tradition (a little closer to the spirit of Loudon Wainwright III than Leonard Cohen), while musically he would comfortably fit in just as easily with early Seventies singer-songwriters as late Seventies punk pop."
Al Church and Friends - Al Church is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Minneapolis, MN. His album, Next Summer, was named Best Electronic/Pop Album of the year by L'etoile Magazine. On original ssongwriter that also plays the hits from the 70s/80s, he is known to take the best of the genres (Yacht Rock, 80s electro, Altnernaitve and Blues Rock) and weave the show into a joyous crowd experience.
Awa Mally, aka The Mayor (she/her) - Grew up in an African household where music was always part of the atmosphere—my dad's burned CDs, my brothers' hip-hop and R&B, and my own internet-born influences. That blend shaped my ear and the way I move through sound today. I DJ to create spaces that relevantly
blend genres, cultures and eras to meet the moment, wherever it is.

Embracing a multicultural language, while investing in a variety of disciplines within the music itself, Mexican born, and Chicago based drummer, composer, & producer Gustavo Cortiñas, has distinguished himself as a dynamic and melodic artist, committed to building empathy and understanding through music, in times of border walls and reductive narratives.
His seventh discographic production "The Drum Also Sings" (ft Dave King and Isaiah Spencer) explores the deep, emotional resonance of rhythm through powerful, percussion-driven storytelling, in which Cortiñas is joined by two of the most distinguished voices in drumming: Dave King and Isaiah Spencer. This project emerged from cultivating an inner dialogue in moments that can sometimes feel hopeless, using the drum as both an instrument of expression and a tool for introspection. Woven with sounds that evoke joy, sorrow, and everything in between, this music is made for healing
