Join us on the new Icehouse patio to kick off the season with the Summer Breeze Music Festival. With a mix of folk music, original folk-pop songwriting, live cover music of great songs from the 80s, and hip-hop infused DJ sets, this multiple band and artist program is just what we need to set the summer vibe.
Ryan Cihlar Folk Duo - Ryan takes his audiences all over the world; a quiet cafe in Paris, a lively wurst hall in Germany, a breezy Italian beach. Playing everything from classic European music to Midwestern folk; and singing everything from Dean Martin to Tears For Fears, Ryan will transport you to a different country- or decade- as he breathes new life into beloved classics on his 1950’s Excelsior accordion.
Matt Caflisch Band - An original singer-songwriter sensation from Eau Claire, Matt's sincere, affable folk-pop original songs is enlivened by is vivid words. In the words of Kevin Avery "Caflisch is a word guy in the best tradition (a little closer to the spirit of Loudon Wainwright III than Leonard Cohen), while musically he would comfortably fit in just as easily with early Seventies singer-songwriters as late Seventies punk pop."
Al Church and Friends - Al Church is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Minneapolis, MN. His album, Next Summer, was named Best Electronic/Pop Album of the year by L'etoile Magazine. On original ssongwriter that also plays the hits from the 70s/80s, he is known to take the best of the genres (Yacht Rock, 80s electro, Altnernaitve and Blues Rock) and weave the show into a joyous crowd experience.
Awa Mally, aka The Mayor (she/her) - Grew up in an African household where music was always part of the atmosphere—my dad's burned CDs, my brothers' hip-hop and R&B, and my own internet-born influences. That blend shaped my ear and the way I move through sound today. I DJ to create spaces that relevantly
blend genres, cultures and eras to meet the moment, wherever it is.
