His music fuses a wide range of traditions: punk rock, jazz, pop, and metal. As a guitarist his work feeds off tactile sensations; rapid picking, contorted clusters, and extreme physicality. The NY Times has called him "...a man apparently hellbent on being the world's least rustic banjo player" ; his work as a banjoist focuses on defying the traditional harmonic and rhythmic expectations of the instrument using accelerated tremoloing and polyrhythmic salvos. He has released ten albums of original material and premiered these works at Jazz Em Agosto, Moers Festival, NYC Winter Jazz Fest, Angel City Jazz Festival, and sweat encrusted DIY venues throughout the land. Rolling Stone Magazine noted, “The fiercely dexterous musician has launched a number of bands combining serious chops with manic intensity and a left- field compositional vision.” He has collaborated with performance artist Joey Arias, jazz icon Anthony Braxton, David Byrne, Mike Watt, Ghost Train Orchestra, Ingrid Laubrock, and vocalist Cécile Mclorin Salvant, among many others. Profiles of his music have appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Premier Guitar, The Fretboard Journal, and Bandcamp Daily. A diverse range of groups he has led including: Seabrook Power Plant, Die Trommel Fatale, epic proportions, and the Brandon Seabrook Trio with Cooper-Moore and Gerald Cleaver.
