Opening up for Molly Brandt and her band, we will be joined by award-winning bluegrass legends: Roe Family Singers, as well as the genre-bending funky rock n’ rollers of Jest. Complete with guest artist appearances, dance lessons, and a wide-ranging landscape of genres, styles, and vibes with Twin Cities all-star musicians. MOLLY BRANDT Named 2023 Americana Artist of the Year at the Midwest Country Music Awards, Molly Brandt is making waves in the independent music scene. Drawing inspiration from songwriting legends, her songs weave tales of heartache, resilience and triumph, delving into blue-collar struggles, dive bar revelries, long car rides, and cold-blooded revenge. With a musical background that includes stints as a classical pianist and jazz vocalist, Brandt found her songwriting voice when she turned to roots music, using a tapestry of Americana styles to tell her vivid, gritty stories. She released her first singles in 2022 and was soon performing at venues and festivals across the Midwest. Brandt captivates audiences with her fiery delivery, memorable attire and evocative lyrics as she showcases powerful vocals, compelling storytelling, and unforgettable performances. Her 2023 debut album, Surrender to the Night, blends honky-tonk, countrypolitan and alt-rock influences. She returned to the studio in early 2024, exploring an even broader range of roots music. The result is her second album, “American Saga”, with release date on September 27th, 2024. As we hear what this next iteration of Molly Brandt sounds like, one thing we can count on is that it’s going to be unforgettable. “Take a ride with me,” she sings in one song that could be an advertisement for her own music. “Light me up, you know you can’t resist / ’Cause I’m like propane and cigarettes.” ROE FAMILY SINGERS Bonfire Records recording artists the Roe Family Singers are a Hard-Core Old-Time band from Minneapolis, MN. The band marries old-time sounds from barn-dances, fiddle pulls, and county fairs with a punk rock delivery. They mix original music and contemporary takes on old-time and traditional tunes. JEST Sunsets in slow motion. Love radiating audibly. Patience and presence groove sweetly, and Eric Carranza, with his band, Jest, return after their 2020 release, “Behaviors”. An exploration of grit and luster, their new offering, “Sunsets” finds poise floating through unexplored planes and spaces. Rhythms are deeper here, laying the foundation for the band’s new backing group, The Sunsettes (Lady Midnight , Molly Brandt, Jade (SPACEGLOW), and Lauda La Artista). Called on by Carranza, these Minnesota songstresses of love radiate over the band’s modest bravado. The 6 song EP, “Sunsets” released on Solstice June 20 2024.
