Rachel's fall residency culminates with the OG Her Crooked Heart: Siri Undlin, Hilary James, Adelyn Strei and Hemma

Between 2018-2020 we spent so many months traipsing town to city, living room to rock club, the US to the UK and Ireland and back. An absolute dream band. Knowing all too well how taxing touring can be for the spirit, I wanted to pick my favorite people and build the music from there. What a band! What an era. Siri Undlin (humbird), Hilary James (bathtub cig), Adelyn Strei (so many), Hannah Hebl (Hemma). Between us there were, I think, 12 instruments on stage? (Plus all the harmony!) In Dec 2019, absolutely honed from tour, we had a wintry session at Brian Joseph's studio, Hive. We sang 5 songs, all live, Jesse filmed the day and it was grand.

And then the pandemic. Everything changed. Lives, zip codes, visions, priorities.

What didn't change? Our abiding adoration of each other.

So it's high time for a reunion show and it's even higher time to finally release Live at Hive.

Rachel Ries is the voice behind Her Crooked Heart, the choral arranging mastermind behind Kith + Kin Chorus and the builder of a terribly charming tiny home on wheels. She's released many records and toured around the world but mostly she enjoys being an auntie, thinking in 8-part harmony, solving construction conundrums, writing songs for patrons and honing her Portuguese Egg Tart baking skills.
