It'll also be an occasion to celebrate the release of an EP from the same collaboration. Yohannes' Bio: Yohannes' career highlights include: Minnesota Emerging Composer Award (MECA), Grammy Nomination with the song, 'The Jungle Way Out', and recipient of the Mid-America Hall of Fame with The Sounds Of Blackness. Recent performances on world stages include: The Royal Albert Hall (London), The SSE Arena (Belfast), and Carnegie Hall (NY) with The Gettys. Montreaux Jazz Festival, Northsea Jazz, Red Rocks, Hollywood Bowl, and Blue Note residency featuring jazz icons Kenny Garrett and Joshua Redman with Cory Wong. Working across different genres, Yohannes has also performed with various artists such as Stokley, The Headhunters, Dave Koz, Jef Lee Johnson as well as Ethiopian legends, Mahmoud Ahmed, Aster Aweke, Gigi, and Ali Birra to mention a few. Fronting a band under his own name, Yohannes continues to channel his artistic voice that is shaped by his African heritage and the American experience through recordings and live performances that feature some of the best in the business.
