Emerging artist and producer Young Dervish has been creating music intercontinentally for over a decade. Frequently collaborating and producing for artists in his current home city Minneapolis, MN, the Pakistani/American artist is ready to show everyone the more personal side of his expression. His music blends the fidelity of the digital age with the timelessness of analogue texture to create a sound that is both massive and intimate. Dervish pays homage to many greats through his art including Jai Paul, Jon Hopkins, Children of Bodom and Sade

Christian Music makes experimental music that feels devotional in its honesty — fragmented, emotional songs stitched together from blown-out textures, digital debris, intimate melodies, and instinctive songwriting.

Happy Pride, Twin Cities! We’re throwing a dance party! Get cute and celebrate with TruArtSpeaks and RARE Productions at Icehouse on June 20, 2026. Dj Michel.Be is spinning all night, we have resources to give away, Lt. Sunnie hosting, and a few special guests to make it a Pride worth remembering! This event is Volume Six of The Urgent Emergent Performance Art Series: Queer the Mic, A Pride Party.

The Urgent Emergent Performance Art Series powered by TruArtSpeaks (Urgent Art Series) is a year-long residency at Ice House in Minneapolis, MN, taking place monthly, every third Saturday,* in celebration of TruArtSpeaks' 20th year anniversary and - more importantly - all of the artists who make our work and community what it is.

Founded in 2006, by Tish Jones, the arts & culture organization based in Saint Paul has a long history of providing platforms for artists to share timely and innovative work— this series is no different. The Urgent Art Series will invite new and true collaborators to share work that speaks to both the nightly theme and the series' invitation: urgent and emergent performance art. Known for being bold in their creative work, TruArtSpeaks has curated a year of creative expression that will move the crowd, the needle, and change forward through creative cultural expression.

The Urgent Art Series is sponsored, in part, by Minnesota Public Radio.

Currently, LA serves as co-host for the award winning PBS music education YouTube series “Sound Field”, and is a professor of Race & Identity at the University of Minnesota. His artistry is full of energy, excitement, and culture. What to expect: It’s a jazz and funk jam featuring a brand-new combo “The Homework House Band”. L.A. Buckner on drums, Omar Abdulkarim on Trumpet/Flugelhorn, Ethan Yeshaya on Bass, and Kevin Gamble on keyboards. The jam will include special guests sitting in on vocals, horns and other instruments. This is NOT an open mic! You GOTTA be great to sit in! There will also be activities/games for the audience to participate in. We are resetting the standard of greatness that this city is known for.
