The bandleader arrives in full force, after years accompanying the likes of Wynton Marsalis, David Sanchez, Justin Robinson, Roosevelt Collier, Steve Cole, and many others. Over eight original compositions, Kaviraj is riveting, playing with astonishing virtuosity and spirit. He is matched by a stellar band, anchored by bassist Jeff Bailey, drummer Kevin Washington, saxophonist Pete Whitman, and trumpeter Omar Abdulkarim. The group has performed together for years in various arrangements, and the camaraderie shows. To celebrate its one year anniversary, this concert marks the release of a special two-disc vinyl edition of Fables. This special edition LP, contains 8 narrative preludes to each composition: the tales of each tune told, set to musical background derived from Kavy's voice memos. The show is produced as a complete narrative of Fables, complete with multimedia including animations of each prelude, and a few special guests.
