With the release of their latest single "Something Good,” the fivesome is ushering in a new era of high-energy indie pop rock while still maintaining the lyrical integrity, powerhouse vocals and early 2000s-esque style that defines their sound. Frontwoman Maria Coyne chronicles her journey in love, struggles with depression and anxiety, and finding herself in a vulnerable yet resilient way that leaves the listener hopeful about what can happen when we fight for the light within ourselves and find joy in the little corners of the universe. The result is a tapestry of big-picture pop anthems, soulful ballads, and driving-with-the-windows-down-belt-your-heart-out bangers. Maria and the Coins have opened for Christina Perri, Papa Roach, Betty Who, JP Saxe and Haley Reinhart. Their debut album ‘Forward’ received local and national radio play with the lead single “Movin’ On” gaining traction on Spotify with over 300k streams. The Minneapolis-based fivesome is currently recording new music set for release in early 2025. For more, visit www.mariaandthecoins.com. Named 2023 Americana Artist of the Year at the Midwest Country Music Awards, Molly Brandt is making waves in the independent music scene. With her powerful vocals, compelling storytelling, and unforgettable performances, her songs weave tales of heartache, resilience, and triumph, delving into blue-collar struggles, dive bar revelries, long car rides, and cold-blooded revenge. With a musical background that includes stints as a classical pianist and jazz vocalist, Brandt found her songwriting voice when she turned to roots music, using a tapestry of Americana styles to tell her vivid and gritty stories. She released her first singles in 2022 and was soon performing at venues and festivals across the Midwest. Her 2023 debut album, Surrender to the Night, blends honky-tonk, countrypolitan, and alt-rock influences. Her next album, American Saga, is set to release on September 27th, 2024 and singles off this project have been rolling out throughout the summer of 2024. Her new material explores an even broader range of roots and Americana music, breaking the mold of Americana and country to form a sound that is all her own. In early 2024, her band performed on The Rhinestone Teardrops Tour alongside Chicago-based artist, Reilly Downes & The Acid Cowboys, traveling across the United States, performing in Austin, Nashville, Memphis, and Chicago, to name a few. Her band continuously captivates audiences with a fiery delivery, memorable attire, and evocative lyrics. As we hear what this next iteration of Molly Brandt sounds like, one thing we can count on is that it’s going to be unforgettable. “Take a ride with me,” she sings in one song that could be an advertisement for her own music. “Light me up, you know you can’t resist / ’Cause I’m like propane and cigarettes.”
